The Château de Versailles with it’s over 1300 rooms and surrounded by elaborate gardens remains France’s most famous palace. We take a guided tour of this fantasy of king Louis XIV. In the afternoon, back in Paris, we visit Sacre-Couer. From here it’s just a few meters to Place du Tertre, heart of the famous Montmartre quarter. Numerous painters fill up the space with their easels, drawing portraits of visitors from all over the world. A perfect place to end the day.
From the many spectacular sites of Southern France the Pont du Gard is amongst the most famous. This three-tiered aqueduct was once part of a 50km-long system of water channels, built around 19 BC to transport water up to 20,000 cubic metres of water per day.Nearby Nîmes sets the stage for other important treasures from the Roman times like: Amphitheater, Maison Carrée and the temple of Diana.
During our drive from Avignon to Nice we visit some of the most iconic cities of the world famous Cote d’Azur.Our first stop get’s us to Aix en Provence. With it’s graceful boulevards, picturesque squares and the unique light of Southern France it epitomizes the beauty of the Cote d’Azur. Saint Tropez, the legendary meeting point of the rich and famous is the perfect place for a relaxing lunch brake. In Cannes, home of the famous film festival we stroll along the boulevard La Croisette before we arrive in Nice.
